The Quitman Pee Wee Association has announced football and cheerleading sign-ups are underway. Signups are every Thursday in May from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Quitman Nutrition Center.

The cost is $75 plus two fundraisers, cookie dough sales and a carwash/bake sale. There will also be discounts available for multiple siblings.

The cost will include all uniforms and equipment needed for participation, with the exception of cleats for the boys. There will also be insurance provided for each child.

There will be three teams: first and second grade; third and fourth grade; and fifth and sixth grade. The boys will be taught football fundamentals, teamwork and discipline.

The cheer squads will have an opportunity to show off all their hard work by competing in the cheer competition at the end of the season. They will be taught many cheers through the season, in addition to a dance routine for the competition. The children will also have the privilege of participating in the homecoming parade.

The association is also looking for coaches to help throughout the season. For more information, contact James Wood at 903-283-6758.
