Sprouting peace
A ribbon cutting was held by the Mineola Chamber of Commerce Saturday at the Mineola Nature Preserve for the new Promise of Peace garden. The raised bed garden has been planted with a variety of fruits and vegetables by community volunteers, partnering with Wood County Master Gardeners. Elisabeth Dry, organizer of the non-profit, snips the ribbon. She said the garden will be the focus for several events, from classes to farm-to-table feasts.
