• St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Mineola will host a rummage sale on Friday-Saturday, Oct. 12-13, in the church hall from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. The hall is located at Meadowbrook and N. Newsom streets. Follow the signs. The sale promises to have many fine items for sale. The rummage sale is the Ladies Guild’s largest fundraiser, and it supports various worthwhile projects.

• Quitman Arboretum and Botanical Gardens will hold its 2018 fall plant sale on Oct. 13 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the arboretum and botanical gardens located at 175 Governor Jim Hogg Parkway Quitman, TX 75783. Annuals, shrubs, perennials and trees will be available. Proceeds from the sale go directly towards creating and maintaining the beautiful gardens for all to enjoy.

• Holly Stitchers, a sewing ministry at Holly Brook Baptist Church, Hawkins, is collecting used T-shirts for constructing diapers for Kenya and Mexico missions. Receptacles for donated T-shirts are in the Welcome Center of the Family Life Center. Call the church office for more information: 903-769-2091.
