Juanita Derr

1937-2017

A funeral service for Juanita Derr, 79, Mineola will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola with Rev. Fred Morrow officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Mineola.

Mrs. Derr died on Monday, March 27, in Tyler. She was born Tuesday, April 14, 1937 in Oakgrove, Louisiana to the late Robert and Lola Bridges.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Keith Derr and two brothers.

She is survived by her two sons, Leonard Derr of Mineola, Roger Derr of Emory; daughters, Paula Brown of Mineola, Carla Reeves of Alba; two brothers, Leon Bridges and Doyle Bridges of Evant, TX; six sisters, Mary Thomas of Meridian, TX, Ramona Andrews of LaRue, TX, Myrna Barvin, Arlene Oney of Evant, TX, Maxine Bridges of Silsby, Brenda Larent of Vidor; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Come on over to Mineola’s beautiful Historic Select Theater and hear the Lake Country Symphonic Band’s Christmasy “Everything Christmas” concert.

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
