October 13

Deputies Matthew Cooper and Jaclyn Skinner responded to an assault on Apache. The party stated he was at his residence when his dad pulled him from his vehicle and punched him, knocking him unconscious. Deputies spoke with the suspect who advised he loaned his son his vehicle. The party did not take the vehicle where he was supposed to go. They got into an argument when he returned. There was a witness on the scene who also stated that the argument never was physical.

Deputy Andrew Rapp took a report in the lobby of the sheriff’s office for an identity theft. Someone has been using her professional information to receive money. The report was done for future reference.

Deputy Andrew Morrison took an identity theft report on CR 3940. The victim stated he had money missing out of his bank account. He was able to provide a suspect for the forged checks. The case will be forwarded to the Criminal Investigation Division (CID).

October 14

Deputy Morrison was dispatched to CR 1689 for a disturbance. A witness said an argument between a male subject and juvenile female had gotten out of hand. The parties got into an argument, which escalated into a physical altercation. Lee Michael Tadlock, 41, of Alba, was arrested for assault causes bodily injury – family violence.

Sgt. Jeremy Smith spoke with an individual who stated they were at the beach area of Lake Holbrook with her dog when another dog attacked them and bit her. A report will be filed for future reference.

Deputy Corbin Hanner had a report of a sexual assault and welfare concern on CR 2112. Due to the nature of the call and the mental status of the person, the case will be forwarded to CID for review.

Sgt. Jeremy Smith, Sgt. Austin Cooper, Deputy Matthew Cooper, Deputy Corbin Hanner and Pct. 3 Constable John McQueen responded to a shots fired call at the Lake Winnsboro beach area. There were numerous subjects at the location. Due to not finding any firearms at the scene, and the inconsistency with information, the report will be forwarded to CID. None of the involved parties wished to file charges.

Deputy Hanner and Sgt. Austin Milbourn arrived at PR 5553 for a physical disturbance. The party stated she and a male were in a fight. The male left before deputies arrived. Deputies were unable to locate him for his statement.

Deputy Hanner responded to Hwy. 154 for a subject experiencing a mental health crisis. The subject was transported to the emergency room but left, refusing treatment. They were then located in the parking lot of a local business and taken back to the hospital for treatment.

Deputy Hanner was sent to the Winnsboro emergency room for an emergency detention warrant transport. The subject was a voluntary admission to the hospital for a mental health crisis. They were taken to a treatment facility in Greenville.

Deputy Morrison assisted Mineola Police Department on a traffic stop. A witness stated they observed the occupants of the vehicle in a physical altercation on the roadway. Due to neither party wishing to press charges, Deputy Morrison cleared the scene and allowed Mineola to handle the traffic stop.

October 15

Deputy Cole Hudson went to the UT Health Quitman emergency room for a dog bite. The party stated she was playing with her dog when he bit her. Vaccination records were provided for the dog.

Deputy Cooper responded to an inquest on CR 3245. The justice of the peace and funeral home were contacted. The responding justice of the peace ordered an autopsy due to an unknown cause of death.

Deputy Brad Cox transported a subject in mental health crisis to a treatment facility in Arlington.

Deputy Cox was dispatched to CR 3640 for a call of terroristic threat. The party stated she is being harassed by her ex-boyfriend. Due to the information coming from a third party, the report will be filed as an incident report.

Lt. Josh O’Grady took a report on FM 49. Neighbors were upset with each other over chickens.

October 16

Deputies Cooper and Jim Rapp went to PR 7864 for a disturbance. They spoke with the party, who stated she had been having an argument with her husband. She advised she was arrested last week and there was a protective order in place. Deanna Bitner, 59, of Hawkins, was arrested for violation of a protective order. The husband was criminally trespassed from the location by the reporting party’s daughter.

Deputy Jim Rapp went to Greenville St. in Alba for a criminal mischief complaint. The party stated he went out to his car and found a softball sized hole in the back driver’s side glass. He did not know who would have broken the window and didn’t see anything that could have caused the hole. The case will be forwarded to Alba Police Dept. for further investigation.

Deputy Linda Williams took a suspicious circumstance call on FM 312. The party stated while checking on his cows, he found several objects that did not belong to him. A report was made for future reference.

Deputy Williams had a suspicious circumstance call on FM 2966. The party stated he leased the property.  Approximately two months ago, he observed a go-kart sitting on the property. Now, the go-kart is closer to the front gate and an ATV is where the go-kart was. The report was filed for future reference.

Deputy Brad Cox and Sgt. Heather Bailey responded to Hwy. 37 for a welfare check. They attempted to make contact with the subject but had no answer. They were able to make entry into the residence and found the subject deceased. The justice of the peace and funeral home were contacted and arrived.

October 17

Deputy Jim Rapp took a damaged property report on PR 7910. The party stated his neighbor cut down several trees which fell across the fence, knocking it down. Because the fence was down, the party said he had a missing donkey. He did not wish to press charges but wanted his donkey back, the trees cleaned up and the fence repaired. He later called back and stated he was in contact with the other person and they had a plan for moving forward.

Deputy Williams met with an individual at the Winnsboro emergency room. She took a report of indecency with a child by contact. The case will be forwarded to CID.

Deputy Cole Hudson responded to CR 2121 for an assault. He spoke with the victim and several witnesses who advised the victim had been assaulted by her boyfriend. Deputy Hudson saw swelling and bruising. Due to the suspect not being located at the time, the case will be forwarded to CID.

Deputy Cooper was on routine patrol on Hwy. 80 when he observed a vehicle pulling a trailer. The trailer did not have working lights. A traffic stop was conducted. The driver was asked for his driver’s license and proof of insurance. He was unable to provide the documents, so he was asked to get out of the vehicle for identification. Terry Wayne Whitworth, 42, of Mineola was arrested for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 more than one gram and less than four grams. The passenger was released at the scene.

Deputy Williams went to the Winnsboro emergency room for a shooting victim. The individual told Deputy Williams that he was cleaning his gun when it discharged, shooting himself in the hand. The incident was documented for future reference.

Deputy Williams and Sgt. Bailey responded to an inquest on CR 3164. The deputies spoke with individuals on scene who stated the deceased individual had been in a car wreck. The case was forwarded to DPS due to the death being in relation to the wreck.

October 18

Deputy Andrew Rapp was dispatched to CR 2221 in reference to fraud. He met with the victim who stated she received a call from a credit card company stating there were large purchases made on her card. She verified all her information with him. She later called the company and was informed there was no one there by that name or badge number. An incident report was filed and she was given an identity theft packet.

Deputy Morrison took a phone report of terroristic threat. The party was threatened not to give information in regard to another incident. A report was filed for future reference.

Deputy Amanda Dollison spoke with an individual in the lobby of the sheriff’s office. The party advised someone had been using her business credit card without permission. She gave a possible suspect in the case. The case will be forwarded to an investigator.

Deputy Andrew Rapp responded to CR 2330 for a criminal mischief and criminal trespass. The party stated he caught a juvenile on a four-wheeler tearing up his hay field. It was solved between the parents of the juvenile and the victim. A criminal trespass was issued to the juvenile.

Deputy Dollison spoke with a subject in regard to a website fraudulently using their address. The website had listed the reporting party’s address as their own and was scamming people out of money. Contact was made with the website and the site host. The report was filed for future reference.

Chief Deputy Robert Holland spoke with an individual who was approached by a person who is a suspect in an ongoing investigation. The reporting party stated the subject came to her residence, intoxicated, and was harassing them about the investigation. Extra patrol was requested for that area.

October 19

Deputy John Cooper went to CR 4895 to take a theft report. He spoke with the party, who stated someone had taken a checkbook from his vehicle. The checkbook contained cash and an identification card. The party gave the names of individuals who he believes could have stolen the checkbook. A report was sent to CID.

Deputy Cooper was dispatched to FM 17 for damaged property. The party stated an ex-employee and her boyfriend were leaving the location. The driver slung rocks in the direction of other employees’ vehicles causing damage. CID will review the case.

Deputy Morrison took a theft report on FM 2869. The party stated a four-wheeler was stolen from her residence. The four-wheeler was entered into the state database, and the report was forwarded to CID.
