Deputy Cox, theft.; someone stole phone from boat, showed to be in a different city, no known suspect, case forwarded to investigations,

Deputy Kovic, burglary, County Road 3220; items thrown through out house, multiple items out of place, case forwarded to investigations.

Deputy Rapp, terroristic threat, FM 2869; victim threatened by man while finishing transaction for him, business provided video footage, victim would like to press charges.

Deputy Hughes, warrant service, County Road 1971; suspect’s father stated male possibly inside residence. Deputies knocked, gave multiple commands with no answer, forced entry, located wanted subject on bed. Narcotics observed in plain sight near suspect, search warrant issued. Cody Calder, 29, Yantis arrested, possession of controlled substance, unlawful possession of firearm.

May 19

Deputy Kovic, missing car, County Road 3440; vehicle owner advised let friend borrow vehicle, not returned in agreed time, like to report it stolen. Deputy made contact with person on suspect’s phone who stated were bringing it back shortly. After vehicle still not returned, will be listed as stolen. 

Deputy Baldwin, welfare concern, County Road 1700; located individual laying in garage unable to get up. EMS able to get person into residence.

Sgt. Cox, animal complaint, County Road 3802; homeowner advised pack of dogs attacked cat, shot one  dog, could not describe others. Cox was unable to locate rest of dogs.

Deputy Gould, disturbance, FM 2422; victim advised after getting into argument, daughter latched onto her, put hand around throat. Suspect advised attempted to grab mother as she was falling, did not put hand on throat. Suspect written citation for assault.

May 20

Deputy Rapp, disturbance, County Road 4441; no signs of disturbance, one party had active warrant. Cameron Luman, 31, Winnsboro arrested for outstanding warrant.

Deputy Croney, damaged property, FM 515; pickup swerved off road, hit vehicle, driver took cellphone out of truck. Witness confirmed story, deputy gathered photos, evidence, will forward to investigations.

Deputy Baldwin, disturbance, County Road 4200; after female came to help clean, wallet missing, got into argument, she left. Suspect advised victim had broken window so she left. Deputy observed broken window to be from previous incident, suspect advised she had not taken wallet; victim’s items entered as stolen.

Deputy Mayer, suspicious person, County Road 2332; victim noticed older female inside residence who she did not know. Once victim’s mother got home, they located female outside near shed, called Sheriff’s Office, believed female ran into woods. Canine did not locate female.

Deputy Whisenhunt, possible burglary, County Road 3457; caller observed broken window at son’s residence, believed someone broke in. Deputy noticed items scattered around, had been gone through. Photos taken, case forwarded to investigations. 

May 21

Deputy Cooper, disturbance, FM 49. One party found with rifle inside vehicle, cleared and firearm released to him.

Deputy Cooper, traffic stop, Hawkins; observed vehicle with fictitious license plate, observed glass smoking pipe next to driver. After driver exited vehicle, bag located under driver, stated ammunition inside. Cooper located firearm inside it. Driver arrested previously for unlawful carry by felon, placed under arrest. Leslie Alaman, 27, Hawkins transported to Wood County Jail.

Deputy Morrison, warrant service, Hwy. 69. Joe Musselwhite, 67, Mineola arrested for outstanding warrant.

Deputy Morrison, warrant service, Betty St., Hawkins. James McEntire, 52, Hawkins arrested for outstanding warrant.

May 22

Deputy Rapp, shots fired, FM 49; caller and friend got into dispute, friend mentioned using gun. After suspect left, later returned, caller could hear loud bangs like gunshots; caller returned warning shot, suspect left scene; parties did not wish to pursue charges.

Deputy Morrison, terroristic threat; victim advised him and step father got into dispute over stove he had permission to take. Victim advised step father grabbed pair of scissors threatened his life, did not want to pursue charges, would like step father to get help. Adult Protective Services will be contacted.

Deputy Croney, vehicle burglary, County Road 3990; while rental truck parked over night someone broke window, stole medication, case forwarded to investigations.

May 23

Deputy Rapp, animal complaint, FM 2659; horse owner advised older horse unable to gain weight, being fed daily. Other animals in pasture appeared to be well nourished.

Deputy Rapp, credit card abuse, Holly Lake Ranch; multiple orders placed that victim did not make; store canceled credit card, case forwarded to investigations.

Deputy Mayer, animal bite, FM 2088; while working on water lines, dog bit victim, broke the skin. Neighbor advised of residence with multiple dogs, one matching description. No one home, will check later.

Deputy Gould, disturbance, County Road 2130; victim’s husband would not let her leave residence with children, did not wish to pursue charges, notified of rights.

May 24

Sgt. Cox, burglary, Big Wood Springs; house in disarray, old food laying out. Homeowner believed someone staying there, had taken items, case forwarded to investigations.

Sgt. Cox, animal complaint, County Road 1885; located horse on property penned without food, appeared malnourished. No contact with owners, will be contacted again.

Deputy Kovic, found property, County Road 2460; caller located credit cards in the ditch, owner contacted, will make sure no fraudulent charges, pick up cards.

Deputy Rapp, dispute, FM 852; caller and daughter got into argument, daughter wanted to drive but didn’t have license. Mother advised wanted daughter to leave residence, notified she would have to be evicted.

Sgt. Cox, suicidal subject, Hwy. 154; caller’s girlfriend diagnosed with dementia, needing to go to hospital, refused, walked down road, located by Cox, advised she had to go to hospital, went with EMS.
