July 12

Deputy Kovic, criminal mischief, CR 4470; someone punctured vehicle tires, victim believes it is ex-husband, house put on extra patrol.

Deputy Comeaux, theft, CR 1540; caller left car seat and phone in friend’s car, when girlfriend found items, she threw them in front yard, will not return victim’s cell phone. Deputies unable to reach girlfriend.

Sgt. Mayer, Deputy Hughes, runaway juvenile, Mineola; family knew where juvenile may be, deputies went to residence, juvenile drove up, returned to parents.

Sgt. Mayer, Deputy Hughes, gunshot victim, CR 4471; Camp County advised it would be their call.

Deputy Rapp, Hwy. 80; deputy Rapp almost struck by vehicle on wrong side of road, Timothy Sirus arrested for DUI.

July 13

Deputies assisted Quitman PD at Quitman ER; patient brought to hospital the night prior, refused to leave the next morning. Quitman PD arrested male for criminal trespass.

Deputies, theft; caller advised she paid someone for items from social media, owner would not come outside, seller had been hacked, someone making fake posts, taking money.

Deputy Comeaux, stolen license plate; victim advised plate was bolted on vehicle, missing, entered as stolen.

Cpl. Burdick, theft; caller rented equipment, not returned, if not returned quickly, would like to pursue charges.

Deputy Rapp, medical call, Hwy. 80; driver of vehicle passed out, no signs of drugs or alcohol.

Sgt. Mayer, Deputy Hughes, suicidal person, Holly Lake Ranch; subject advised he sent suicidal messages to get back at wife.

July 14

Sgt. Morrison, Deputy Pollard, Deputy McGee, disturbance, FM 778; deputies observed male cutting his legs with knife. After he was detained, he began slamming his head against patrol vehicle, transported to receive treatment.

Deputy Pollard, assault; female caller assaulted by husband, refused to give more information, hung up, unable to contact.

Sgt. Williams, welfare check, CR 1946; victim assaulted by husband, given transport away from residence, offense report completed.

July 15

Deputy Croney, fraud; caller sent letter to inmate, credit card being charged for other items, charges have been refunded, identity theft packet completed.

Deputy Croney, missing boat, CR 1699; boat missing in last three weeks, owner unsure if boat stolen or drifted off.

Sgt. Morrison, Deputy Pollard, criminal trespass, CR 1431; camera footage provided of suspect, given trespass warning.

Sgt. Williams, Deputy Smith, assault, Hwy. 154; someone attempted to leave, had open tab, suspect pushed victim down, struck head on bench, suspect fled scene. 

Deputy Smith, traffic stop; driver Zachary Newman wanted, arrested, jailers located meth on him. 

July 16

Sgt. Morrison, Deputy Pollard, assault, CR 2150; victim texted 911 about assault, suspect still in house, victim escaped through side door. Deputies detained suspect, would not speak with deputies. Hanif Khan arrested for assault.

Deputy Pollard, prior call about missing boat; boat located after drifting offshore but missing again, believed to be stolen. 

Cpl. Rapp assisted Mineola PD in search for missing vehicle. Deputies located vehicle, Mineola PD took possession.

July 17

Deputy Wisenhunt, suspicious vehicle; caller advised van pulled up to fence, passenger jumped out, jumped over fence, got back in van and left.

Deputy Hughes, vehicle theft; someone took caller’s truck without permission, victim received call that vehicle was stopped, he could come pick it up.

Deputies, suicidal subject, Yantis; caller’s husband got upset, threatening self-harm, male stated he was trying to get back at wife, was not suicidal.

Deputies, welfare check, Holly Lake Ranch; father advised something wrong with daughter, wanted EMS to check her out. EMS transported to receive medical treatment.

July 18 

Deputy Kovic, identity theft, Hwy. 37; money withdrawn from victim’s account, had 35 other pending charges, case forwarded to investigations.

Deputy Rapp, theft, CR 2686; someone stole large amount of cash from shop, victim provided possible suspect, case forwarded to investigations.

Deputy Rapp, terroristic threat, CR 3802; victim stated brother got upset because she told mail carrier he did not live at address, witness heard phone conversation of brother threatening victim, offense report completed.

Deputy Hughes, missing juvenile; father advised he thought daughter was with mother until he saw charge on credit card from Galveston. Deputies gathered information, forwarded to Galveston County Sheriff’s Office, Galveston located juvenile.

Deputy Comeaux, criminal trespass; female staying on victim’s property he was going to evict, wanted her trespassed. Deputy learned suspect had bond conditions preventing her from talking to victim, offense report completed.
