Sgt. Morrison, Deputy Whisenhunt, assault, CR 2210; caller advised mother struck him during argument, both had conflicting stories, neither wished to pursue charges. 

Cpl. Smith, phone harassment, Hwy. 80; victim harassed over phone by ex-husband, she is scared he will take her kids, victim given advise how to get protection for children.

February 1

Deputy Whisenhunt, Deputy McGee, disturbance, CR 3234; victim received laceration on foot during disturbance, suspect fled, offense report completed.

Cpl. Croney, welfare concern; caller advised son left to stay with friend, wanting to come home, she would attempt to pick him up before reporting him as runaway.

Cpl. Smith, pedestrian stop, CR 2330; observed male and female in argument, parties appeared to be calming down, no offense occurred.

February 2

Sgt. Williams, Cpl. Rapp, criminal mischief, CR 4430; property owner advised tenants took down game cameras, threw them on ground, due to cameras not working, property owner wished to press charges. 

Deputy Skinner,  theft, Hwy. 154; store clerk stated someone stole pack of alcoholic drinks, wished to criminally trespass suspect, deputies awaiting camera footage. 

Deputy Comeaux, criminal mischief, CR 1418; property owner advised someone caused extensive damage to properties structures, offense report completed. 

Deputy Haley, burglary, CR 4651; homeowner advised someone broke in, stole items from residence, case forwarded to investigations. 

February 3

Sgt. Cox, Deputy Nichols, accident, CR 4440; victim in argument with husband, left residence, returned to get her son, observed husband sitting in driveway, began following her in vehicle, suspect rammed vehicle into victim’s vehicle. James Short arrested for aggravated assault with deadly weapon. 

Sgt. Williams, Cpl. Rapp, Deputy Skinner, physical disturbance, CR 2297; when caller came home, male and female in residence, parties began arguing, caller pushed female, male pulled caller back, parties separated, did not wish to pursue charges. 

Sgt. Mayer, pedestrian stop, Hwy. 37; two juveniles observed walking down road, determined both lied to parents about where they were, parents contacted, transported back to residence. 

February 4

Sgt. Williams, Cpl. Rapp, suspicious circumstance, CR 1416; neighbors’ mailboxes left open during night, one mailbox destroyed. 

Cpl. Burdick, Deputy Way, assault; assault took place between two family members, determined aggressor to be juvenile, separated, will be in contact with Juvenile Probation.

February 5

Deputies, Winnsboro area, death investigation; family shared concerns, Criminal Investigations Division contacted, will follow up.

Cpl. Croney, theft of property, Lake Holbrook area; boat trailer recently stolen from nearby boat ramp, located and recovered boat trailer.

Sgt. William, reckless driver, area near Wood-Hopkins County line, Hwy. 154; vehicle reported swerving, running stop signs, female observed trying to jump out of vehicle, vehicle stopped, disturbance took place between occupants, infant present in vehicle. Michael Daniels arrested for assault family violence, endangering child, parole warrant.

February 6

Cpl. Smith, traffic stop, Yantis area; canine search returned positive indication of narcotics, arrest made for possession of controlled substance.

Deputies, wanted subject, adult probation; Kenneth Hughes arrested for warrant.

Deputy Cato, burglary, Mineola; large amount of gold coins missing from late husbands’ property, provided suspect information, case forwarded to Investigations.
