Non-resignation now termination
In another twist to the dismissal of former Assistant District Attorney Joey Fenlaw, District Attorney Angela Albers decided to terminate him after accepting a resignation he claimed he did not give. Wood County commissioners approved the termination at the April 19 meeting.

Civic center entrance closed
The Newsom St. entrance to the Mineola Civic Center will be closed May 2-4 while the road is being repaved. Only the Ivey St. entrance will be open.

Auction supports A-G ag program
As Alba-Golden Superintendent Cole McClendon described, “the best booster club in the state of Texas” came together Saturday for its annual dinner and auction.
It was the Alba-Golden Chapter of the State Association of Young Farmers that filled the Alba-Golden School cafeteria for the fundraiser. By the end of the formal auction, the group had raised $25,657 for the sustainment and activities of the Alba-Golden agri-science department and the FFA. more
