Lake Country band plans holiday treat

Food bank plans free giveaway Dec. 15
The East Texas Food Bank (ETFB) will hold a special holiday food distribution that includes meat on Wednesday, Dec. 15 from 10 a.m.-noon, at Bud Moody Stadium in Quitman.

4-H’ers compete in food show
Members took part in a judged interview in which they presented a prepared food and answered questions about the nutritional qualities of that dish, preparation steps, MyPlate dietary guidelines, possible food substitutions and food safety factors related to that food.

Mineola wards to be redrawn
For the first time since the city of Mineola adopted the ward system of city council districts in 1995, the boundary lines for the three districts will need to be changed.
The change is mandated by the 2020 U.S. Census, which found two of the three wards out of balance. more
