In the anchor event of the Conference 3A state track meet Thursday night in Austin, Mineola’s Morgan Waggoner took the baton in the 1,600-meter relay just trailing the Canadian runner and sprinted a strong anchor leg to bring home the gold medal. more

The Mineola Yellowjackets produced a playoff-caliber performance in their 42-12 bidistrict win over the Atlanta Jackrabbits Thursday. Mineola used a suffocating second-half defense, methodical offense, a defensive touchdown and a special teams score to rout the Rabbits. more

Jackets top team in district, start playoffs Thursday

It was an ugly game. That is ugly with a capital “U.” Thirty-five penalties plagued the Mineola vs. Commerce regular season-ending game Friday.  

The Yellowjackets went to Commerce and came home with a 49-34 win. As they say: you have to win ugly as well.  more

Sneed state player of the week

Mineola running back and linebacker Trevion Sneed has earned the Built Ford Tough Texas High School Football Player of the Week trophy for week 6. Ford announced the award last Wednesday for Sneed’s performance against Bonham on Oct. 2. more
