A-GHS pair earn FFA area, district

Two officers of the Alba-Golden FFA chapter qualified for district and area officers Jan. 13.

Cade Stovall was elected vice president for the Mineola district. Cade is a sophomore and has been in FFA for three years. He is a very active member and chapter sentinel.

Cade focuses on improving the leadership of the chapter, according to his advisor Amanda Thompson. He strives to create a chapter worth leaving its legacy. Cade truly believes in the future of agriculture and aspires to develop premier leadership, personal growth and career success.

Thai Peterson was elected to be an area officer and will know his office after the Area Convention on March 1.

Thai is a junior and has been in FFA for four years. He is chapter reporter and focuses on building chapter participation and citizenship status in the community.

Thai is a very active member who lives and serves by the FFA motto, “Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living to Serve,” Thompson said.

To become an FFA officer at this level takes time, perseverance, motivation and the ability to learn new things. Both of these students possess these features, and the chapter is looking forward to seeing where these members go.
