On Friday, Jan. 23, at 6 p.m. in the Golden pavilion, the Alba-Golden Fishing Team will be putting on a benefit fish fry/auction.

For a community event, their school, or a city fundraiser?

No; they’re doing it for a junior at the high school.

“On Monday, January 12th, Nick – a junior at Alba-Golden High School and a valued member of the Alba-Golden Fishing Team – suffered a stroke,” said the team. “As his fishing family, we want to come together to support Nick and his family during this uncertain time… we would like to give to Nick and his family.”

The fish fry dinner will be provided by Texas Tails and Seth’s Lake Fork Creek. The meal is by donation only. The live auction items include a Yeti cooler, a Blackstone grill, a BKON gift basket, and more.

Many local individuals and organizations have done their part in the cause; local donors include fishing guides who donated trips, restaurants, a church, a realtor, etc.

“We are so blessed to have these amazing people help,” said the team. “Come out, enjoy great food, and support a great cause. Every donation helps!”
