Benefit set for 4th at Mineola preserve

The Mineola Community Friends organization, which has put on free holiday dinners in partnership with Logan’s Place, plans a Friends of July celebration Thursday, July 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Mineola Nature Preserve.

There will be a car show from 9-3, music and food from 11-3, games, face painting, fishing and raffles.

Participants are encouraged to bring canned food donations for the Rose Hill Community Food Pantry.

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
