Campaign fund reports filed for March 1 Republican primary

Campaign finance reports for the primary March 1 have been filed. The first filing deadline was Jan. 18.

In the race for Wood County judge are incumbent Lucy Hebron and former Mineola mayor and school administrator Kevin White.

Hebron has received a $1,000 donation from Dallas Nichols. She has used $750 from political contributions and she has spent $4,434 in political expenditures from personal funds. 

White has received $2,400 in political contributions; non-monetary (in-kind) contributions of $647; $1,000 loan; $3,126 from political contributions; and $750 political expenditures from personal funds. White has received $100 donations from Wesley Marsh, Jacqueline Sadler and Deanna McCullah; $200 from Glen Thurman; $250 each from Jim Herlocker and Don Hightower; $300 from Larry Seibert; $350 from Wayne White and Cathy Pegues; and $400 from Hayley Russell. 

In the district attorney race incumbent Angela Albers has turned in her finance report. At press time her opponent, former DA Jim Wheeler, had not turned in a report.

Albers has $7,000 in political contributions and has spent $5,532. She has received $3,000 each from Lance Gooden for Congress Committee and Growing Our Own Dyanamic Economy Now PAC (a political action committee related to Gooden); and $500 each from Jerry Brooks and Debra Sue Miears.

In the race for Prec. 2 Commissioner Jerry Gaskill reported $300 in contributions and has spent $246. He has received $100 donations from Betty Groeper, Archie Mapes and Ronnie Mapes. His opponent in the primary, Sten Langsjoen, had not turned in a report.

Justice of the Peace Pct. 3 is held by Jerry Parker who is being challenged by former Pct. 3 Constable Gary Dixon. Parker has not turned in a report and Dixon turned in his report with no contributions or expenditures other than the filing fee of $375.

The race for Prec. 4 commissioner is between incumbent Russell Acker and James Whitehurst. Whitehurst has spent $279 and reported no contributions. Acker had not turned in a report as of Monday.
