Car show to benefit Mineola civic groups

Mineola Sizzling Summer Car Show sponsored by the Mineola Kiwanis, Rotary and Pilot clubs will be Saturday, July 27 at the Mineola Meredith Memorial football field parking lot on W. Loop 564. Registration is from 8-10:30 a.m.

Entry fee is $25 for each vehicle entered in the 22 classes and will be a crowd-voted show. Categories included are:

Kirk and Jennifer Henson will be producing the show and donating their time in helping the service clubs. Monies raised will go to the Mineola Kiwanis Back to School Supply program, Mineola Rotary scholarships and Mineola Pilot brain-related projects.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Come on over to Mineola’s beautiful Historic Select Theater and hear the Lake Country Symphonic Band’s Christmasy “Everything Christmas” concert.

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
