Caring & Sharing final week volunteers needed

The Mineola Caring & Sharing project is heading to the finish line for the annual food distribution Saturday, Dec. 10, and volunteers are needed to help sort, box and transport food.

More than 250 families in the Mineola school district are projected to receive assistance.

Workers are needed each day, Monday through Friday, Dec. 5-9 at the First Methodist Church Ministry Center at 612 Newsom St. from 8 a.m. to noon.

Volunteers can just show up.

Daily events include the following:

Monday – sort school donation food boxes, unload King’s Storehouse food truck, set up tables and boxes.

Tuesday – sort King’s Storehouse food and begin boxing, sort sweet potatoes.

Wednesday – finish boxing school and King’s Storehouse food.

Thursday – unload, sort and box food from Brookshire’s.

Friday – Finalize boxing food.

Saturday – Distribution 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

From Noon to 2 p.m. there will be an appreciation lunch for all volunteers.
