Commissioners accept resignation of longtime IT Director John Bell
Wood County Commissioners approved the resignation of longtime county IT Director John Bell as they ran through a short agenda in a matter of minutes at Tuesday’s meeting. Bell, who lives in Canton, became the IT Director at the beginning of former Judge Lucy Hebron’s administration.
There were only two items on the regular agenda. The commissioners approved the audit confirmation request from Tegrity Contractors concerning Wood County Jail additions and renovations. Also approved was setting a June 23 hearing date at 9:00 a.m. for the Young Acres subdivision in Precinct 3.
The consent agenda was approved. It included approval of reports from the constables and environmental officer and approval of a road permit in Precinct 4. The court acknowledged an order assigning the Honorable Lauren Parish to preside in the 402nd District Court in the case of Travis Little vs. Patricia Little. There was no treasurer’s report.
Claims approved were: payroll, $539,318; health and dental, $209,083; and accounts payable, $391,462.
