Commissioners OK pay hikes for assistant DAs
Salary raises for members of the Wood County District Attorney’s office were approved by Wood County commissioners last Tuesday.
Those attorneys are Logan Sawyer from $31.98 per hour to $34.68; Shauna Key from $36.68 to $37.68; and Patrick Daily from $36.68 to $37.68. Also in the DA’s office clerk Cheryl Collins was raised from $20.93 to $22.32. In the Sheriff’s Dept. Samantha Mayer resigned her position as jailer.
In other personnel moves Holly Williams in the tax office also received a raise and in the auditor’s office Kelly Kieke was hired part-time.
In other business commissioners approved a bid for roofing material and services for the county jail from Garland/DBS, Inc. for $1,498,979. It was the lowest of three bids.
Commissioners approved a proclamation honoring the City of Mineola Sesquicentennial Year celebrating the city’s 150 years. Another proclamation approved by commissioners was designating Sept. 17–23 as Constitution Week.
Wood County sheriff’s and constable fees were approved as was the appointment of Judge Alfonso Charles for the 402nd District Court.
Jury reimbursement was raised by the commissioners. The first day pays $20. If the juror stays past the first day the payment rises from $0 per day to $58 per day.
In another matter, commissioners approved a petition for the dedication of Private Road 6325 for county maintenance.
