Commissioners OK several personnel changes

Wood County commissioners made quick work on a short agenda Tuesday morning. 

Commissioners Virgil Holland and Jerry Gaskill were absent, attending a continuing education workshop. Judge Lucy Hebron and Commissioners Mike Simmons and Russell Acker were present.

In personnel moves commissioners approved the resignation of Assistant IT Director Abram Syphrett. In other moves, Michael Anderson retired in Precinct 3; Cara Farrell was hired full-time as assistant auditor; Amber Cunningham was hired as a cook in the corrections department; Dakota Anglin was hired full-time as a jailer; Bryce Rush was hired as temporary help in Precinct 2; Karen Beck was hired full-time as a clerk in the District Attorney’s office; and Drew Deatherage was hired part-time with the Wood County Economic Development Commission.

Commissioners held a public hearing and approved the revision of a lot in the Golden Subdivision near Alba on CR 1610. Commissioners set a public hearing for July 26 at 9 a.m. for a revision in the Holly Lake Ranch Subdivision.

Commissioners approved the county payroll of $407,617; health and dental payments of $105,203; and accounts payable of $419,688.

Commissioners also approved the report from Environmental Officer Jim Rapp for May. 

Commissioners will meet again June 28 at 9 a.m.
