CrappieFest 2026 draws large crowds to Lake Fork
Anglers, families, and outdoor enthusiasts flocked to CrappieFest 2026 at Lake Fork March 27-29. It was one of the event’s largest turnouts.
At Caney Point Recreation Area, the three-day festival paired competitive fishing with outdoor festivities. The tournament focused on landing the largest crappie, bringing participants from Texas and neighboring states to vie for over $100,000 in prizes.
CrappieFest also delivered a festival atmosphere that spanned beyond the water. Vendors traveled from across the region to be at the event, filling the grounds with fishing gear, outdoor equipment and specialty goods. Dozens of food trucks and trailers lined the area, offering a variety of options that kept steady lines throughout the weekend.
Organizers provided family-friendly entertainment, with games and activities for all ages. The layout enabled easy movement between vendors, food courts, and the main stage, guaranteeing continuous activity.
Building on the day’s energy, music played a central role in the weekend’s appeal. A large stage was set up to host evening concerts, bringing in crowds after the day’s fishing concluded. March 28 featured a concert by Cody Cannon of Whiskey Myers. The day also featured a performance by Chris Colston ahead of the tournament weigh-in, providing live entertainment that energized the audience and built anticipation for the results.
The weigh-in proved to be a highlight, as spectators gathered to watch anglers present their catches and see who would claim top honors. Cheers rang out as weights were announced, showing the competitive energy and community excitement that defined the event.
Officials and organizers reported that attendance exceeded expectations, boosting the local economy and strengthening CrappieFest’s reputation as a leading outdoor event.
Blending competitive competition, live entertainment, and festival attractions, CrappieFest 2026 reinforced Lake Fork’s role as a premier East Texas destination for anglers and outdoor recreation.
