CRAPPIEFEST will be held on March 27-29 at the Caney Point Recreation Area on Lake Fork.

A free festival, expo, boat show, and family fun event, CRAPPIEFEST expects a turnout of thousands for their weekend events. They will have 150+ vendors, panels of experts to answer questions and hold demonstrations, and events for all.

Of note is the Saturday night concert, which will be headlined by Cody Cannon of Whiskey Myers. Tickets can be purchased by visiting the CRAPPIEFEST website. CRAPPIEFEST will also hold a free crappie fish fry for the community Friday night, March 27, from 4 to 7 p.m.

Entry is free, but entering the fishing tournaments incurs an additional cost of $100 each. Youth under 17 who attend on Friday night at 5:30 will receive a free rod and reel combo, and will fish Saturday for free. Registration is necessary for all who want to fish, including youth.

There are many different prizes and competitions at the event. However, there are two main tournaments, both of which are individual, and not team, events. Saturday’s tournament will have one final weigh-in at the end of the fishing day, and will pay up to 50 places as well as many different weight-based prizes. Sunday features an hourly tournament from 7-1, during which time they’ll pay up to 10th place hourly plus end-of-day bonuses.
