DAR plans July 4th celebration at Hogg Park

The Elizabeth Denton English Chapter of Mineola of the Daughters of the American Revolution will host an open house celebration at the Honeymoon Cottage in Governor Jim Hogg Park on Sunday, July 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be guided tours through the cottage, butter churning demonstrations with free samples, quilting demonstrations, refreshments of old fashioned lemonade and Southern old fashioned tea cakes.

County Judge Lucy Hebron will read the Declaration of Independence from the porch.
