Defendants enter guilty pleas in district court

The following guilty pleas were heard and sentences assessed in 402nd District Court on April 23:

Abigail Dawn Harvey, Emory, possession of a controlled substance (PCS) penalty group one (PG1) less than one gram, state jail felony, 60 days in the county jail with 183 days credit for time served, $500 fine.

Victor Lopez Medina, Mineola, driving while intoxicated second offense, Class A misdemeanor, 60 days in county jail with credit for 439 days time served; evading arrest/detention with a vehicle, third degree felony, two years in state prison, $2,000 fine.

Brent Michael Banks, Palestine, illegal dumping over 1,000 lbs. over 200 cubic feet, state jail felony, deferred adjudication, two years community supervision with 120 hours community service, $500 fine.

Caleb Wesley Speckmann, Palestine, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, second degree felony, deferred adjudication, five years community supervision with 240 hours community service, $1,500 fine.

Gulian Alexis Cruz, Tyler, possession of marijuana more than four ounces but less than five pounds, state jail felony, deferred adjudication, five years community supervision with 120 hours community service, $500 fine.

Demetri Deshawn Mayfield, Tyler, PCS PG1/1-B less than one gram, state jail felony, 10 months in state jail with $500 fine.

William Chad Busby, Leesburg, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, four years in state prison with 184 days credit for time served, $1,000 fine.

Jimmy Heath Cunningham, Gladewater, PCS PG1 four grams or more but less than 200, second degree felony, deferred adjudication, six years community supervision with 240 hours community service, $1,000 fine.

Latoya Reneece Timmons, Hawkins, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, deferred adjudication, 10 years community supervision with 240 hours community service, $1,000 fine.
