MINEOLA - Funeral Mass for Edward “Byron” Rutledge, 81 of Midlothian, will be held today (February 28) at St. Peters Catholic Church in Mineola at 11 a.m. with Father Lawrence Love officiating. A Rosary prayer service was held Tuesday Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Mineola.
Mr. Rutledge died February 23, 2018, in Midlothian. He was born September 23, 1936, in Beeville to the late Edward and Julia Rutledge. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. After he fulfilled his military duty he had a career at JCPenney.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Donnie “Sue” Rutledge.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Rutledge; daughter, Jana Pannill; stepdaughter, Jana Jennings, stepson Jason Haggard; 9 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
