Eloise Cunningham 1935-2024

Eloise Cunningham passed away on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024 at age 88. She was born Aug. 7, 1935 in Mineola to Albert Sidney Scott and Willie Gertrude Harris Scott. She married Donald Louis Cunningham in 1953, and they celebrated 56 years together. She graduated from Mineola High School. She worked for the City of Mineola as an assistant city clerk and volunteered as a “Pink Lady” at ETMC Quitman Hospital for 10 years. Upon retiring, Don and Eloise joined the Big “D” Winnies & Heart of Texas Winnies and traveled from Alaska to Florida and everywhere in between. Her hobbies included cooking for her family, sewing, crafts, playing games and painting.

She will be deeply missed by her daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Charles Hanger, Cindy  and Rob Pfaff and Traci and Tommy Kubaiko. Grandchildren include Krysten Hanger, Cody and wife Kelsey Pfaff, Haley and husband Zach Seanor, Tanner and wife Lauren Neighbors, Sydney and husband Joe Lugo, Caitlyn and husband Shane Lively, and Shawn and wife Sonya Pyron. She was blessed with 11 great-grandchildren: Nixon, Jaxon, Raynee, Sofia, Phoenix, Lilly, Cohen, Brooke’lynn, Thomas, Bailey and Kinley. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Cunningham; father, Albert Sidney Scott; mother, Willie Gertrude Harris Scott; sister, Nona Maxine Scott; brother, Gene Scott; and grandson, Shawn Pyron.

Everyone described Eloise as “the sweetest lady.” She was caring, generous and loving to all who knew her.
