Faith Baptist hosting community event

VBS EXPRESS PLUS! is coming to Faith Baptist Church in Quitman on Saturday, June 11. The event will be from 4 to 8 p.m. beginning with a one-session Vacation Bible School for children followed by a family-oriented Community Block Party.

VBS will be held in the Faith Baptist Student Center, next to the Quitman police station from 4-6 p.m. for children four-years-old through completed fifth grade. Children will rotate through different stations in the student center with the last station being a puppet show about Daniel in the Lion’s Den from the Old Testament of the Bible.

The “PLUS” to “VBS EXPRESS” is the Community Block Party to be held from 6-8 p.m. on the church parking lot, 405 S. Hart St. The block party is for the whole community to gather for an evening of games, inflatables, cake walk, petting zoo, free grilled hotdogs and more.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert
