Fannie Marchman Garden Club hosts garden tours
Members of the Fannie Marchman Garden Club will continue celebrating their 90th anniversary Saturday, May 30, with a tour of four lush gardens and educational programs at Gray’s Nursery throughout the day.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will feature tours of four private gardens in the Mineola area. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at any stop on the tour.
Gardens featured on the tour include those of Greg and Sherry Bartz, 240 County Road 2450; CK and Charyn Baker, 1601 FM 49; Toni Border, 804 N. Newsom St.; and Candy Underwood, 708 Sycamore St.
Gray’s Nursery will host educational presentations by nursery manager Taylor Meason. Topics will include “Pollinator Power” and “Living Dirt.”
Event organizers said the tour was created to continue celebrating the club’s long history while promoting gardening education and appreciation for local landscapes.
The Fannie Marchman Garden Club has served the Mineola community for 90 years through gardening projects, beautification efforts and educational programs.
