Federal drug indictments connected to Wood County
Five men have been arrested and additional suspects are being sought following a federal indictment April 15 in the Eastern District of Texas.
Raymond Christian Petty was arrested for Wood County warrants on April 14 for two felonies, manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance penalty group one one gram or more but less than 400 grams and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
He was released April 17 and arrested again on April 20 in Wood County on federal warrants for the following:
Conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances;
Possession with intent to distribute and distribution of controlled substance and aiding and abetting;
Use, carry and possession of firearms during, to and in further of a drug traffic crime; and
Felon in possession of a firearm.
He was transferred to the Smith County jail on April 21 on a federal retainer, arrested by the U.S. Marshal Service.
Also arrested on the same indictment were Deon Donte Butler of Leesburg, Monty Brittain, Juvenal Rojo and Brandon Soles.
The federal indictment states that these activities began in October 2025 and lists one incident of conspiracy to distribute, 11 separate incidents of possession with intent to distribute, three counts of use/carry/possession of weapon during drug traffic crime and one count of felon in possession.
