First Christian Church-Mineola welcomes new pastor
First Christian Church of Mineola announces that Allen Knox from Lindale has accepted the position of church pastor.
Knox has been in ministry for 30 years – 25 in pastoral ministry and five working for Youth With a Mission (YWAM). His wife, Beth, continues to work in missions, just recently returned from Poland and working with Ukranian refugees.
He graduated from Abi-lene Christian University with a bachelor of arts in communication and a master of arts degree in history of christian thought. He also holds a masters of ministry degree from Trinity College and Seminary. Before joining YWAM he served as senior minister to Cross Road Christian Church in McKinney for 15 years.
Allen and Beth have three children: daughter, Taylor, a kindergarten teacher in the DFW area; son, Jonathan, a worship pastor in Shawnee, Okla.; and daughter, Lauren, who lives at home and works in Tyler at a pet store. Jonathan and his wife, Alysa, are planning to plant a church in Norman, Okla. next year.
The church has a regular service at 10:45 a.m. each Sunday at 209 N. Pacific, Mineola. There is also a “Lite” service at 8:30 a.m. for those who prefer a shorter service with no music, designed especially for those who cannot sit for longer periods of time. Communion is also served.
