Former Stage Store to be remodeled for AutoZone
The former Stage Store at 1116 N. Pacific St. in Mineola is the planned location for an AutoZone store.
Last week, the Mineola Economic Development Corp. approved a five-year loan at 6% interest for $100,000 for Hughes Appliance owners Ron and Lisa Hughes of Mineola, who own the property.
The funds will help with building upgrades and maintenance in preparation for leasing the building to AutoZone.
The Mineola City Council gave the final approval to the plans Monday.
The Stage Store was among a number of Stage and Bealls stores that have been closed in smaller communities in recent years and has been vacant.
