Four return to appraisal district board
Four members of the Wood County Appraisal District board of directors will return for two-year terms.
Former Quitman ISD superintendent Rhonda Turner will serve as the fifth member of the board, replacing the late John Johnson.
Returning are Sam Curry, Al Harris, Robert Jackson and Dan Strickland. Jackson was first elected in 2020 while the other three have served since 2004.
Wood County Tax Assessor-Collector Carol Taylor also serves ex-oficio.
The board members are elected by the county’s taxing entities with votes based on their property tax levies.
