Freida Joy  Boaze 1938-2023

Posted

She came into this world on Sept. 14, 1938, and our beautiful beloved Freida Joy stepped into eternity after having a short illness ending in death at Trinity Mother Francis hospital in Tyler on Jan. 23, 2023.

She had recently relocated from Mineola to Lindale.

Joy was born in Henderson but grew up in Marshall with four siblings. While in high school in Marshall, she met her eternal love, Ernest Boaze, and they eventually married.

Ernest and Joy had three children, Debbie, Stephen, who met the Lord Aug. 1, 1979, and the youngest, Michael.

Joy was an avid bridge player and a social butterfly. She was always the life of the party. She loved to fish, and she could out fish anyone even if it meant catching fish in the eye or tail.

She was fiercely protective and devoted to her family and you would regret it if you messed with her loved ones.

One guilty pleasure she had was getting her hair done once a week from Minnie Ruiz Threlkeld.

Joy was preceded in death by her parents, Thurston and Josie Bell Sanders; her beloved son, Stephen Paul Boaze; and two siblings, Kendall Wayne Sanders and Jean Stegall.

Joy left behind her loving husband of whom she has been married to for 68 years. May 1 of this year Joy and Ernie would have been married 69 years.

She is also survived by her loving daughter, Debbie (Dale); son, Michael (Robbie); siblings, Gaylon Sanders and Janice Giehl; grandsons, Chad (Jereme), Luke (Christina) and Michael (Kara); granddaughter, Michelle; great-grandsons, Zachary, Brooks, Logan, Jaxon, Garrett, Kolton and Wyatt; and great-granddaughters, Preslyn and Ally.

Rest in peace our dear wife, mother and grandmother.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She has not taken on wings for she is now a step above the Angels.

“Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world ...

Do you not know that we are to judge angels? Corinthians 6:2-2

She has shed the earthly body and is now clothed in a glorified body that is imperishable, honorable, and powerful.

God’s children will be given a higher position than the angels.

We’re not only created in God’s image but redeemed by Christ.
