Gannon memorial work day benefits animals
Year four of the Jeff Gannon memorial volunteer day at Animal Protection of East Texas (APET) in Mineola was a huge success Sunday, Oct. 8 with over 25 volunteers, including family, friends, kids and board members.
Supporters filled a room with the most donated/collected supplies to-date and raised nearly $1,000.
From landscaping to cleaning to kennel upgrades, the synergism was profoundly noteworthy.
“We are incredibly thankful to be surrounded with love and support each year, and to be able to channel grief into charitable efforts that Jeff would be proud of,” said his sister, Kim Gannon.
The event was begun in 2020 on the first anniversary of the 1998 Mineola graduate’s passing.
Donations can be made directly on the APET-SPCA website or read about other ways to contribute year-round. https://apetshelter.org/
