Gary Wayne Day 1959-2024

Gary Wayne Day, 64 of Cedar Park passed away peacefully on March 16, 2024 surrounded by his family.

Gary was born on July 3, 1959 to Marshall and Ruth Day in Fort Worth. He graduated from Mineola High School Class of 1978.  Later he moved to Cedar Park and became an operations/vault manager for Oak Farms Dairies in Austin. He left many cherished friends upon retirement after 33 years of dedicated service. Gary made a profession of faith in Jesus in July 1996. He attended Hill Country Bible Church when the Cowboys were not playing.

Gary Wayne married Joanna Blaylock on Aug. 5, 1993 at the courthouse in Austin and were married for 31 years. They received their first parking ticket as a married couple that day, stuck on their windshield was a ticket for parking in the wrong spot at the courthouse. Then their family became a modern day Brady Bunch.

Gary Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Ruth Day; one sister, Gloria Jean Day Herring; and two brothers, Marshall Day, Jr. and Danny Day.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Joanna Day; three sons, Jeff Day (Karalee), Randy Sharp (Becky) and Austin Walters (Brandi); three daughters, Wendy Day Warlick (Jason), Bethany Walters Caccamisi (Anthony) and Kirsty Day; one sister, Carol Ann Day Millirons; and one brother, Jimmy Day.

He was affectionately known as Paw-Paw to 13 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and an admired Uncle Gary to many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held at the Venues on Sycamore in Mineola on Saturday, April 27 from 3-5 p.m. for family and friends.
