Gilbert R. Rahuba  1935-2021

Gilbert R. Rahuba, 86, of Mineola passed away on Aug 11, 2021 in Tyler. He was born on April 25, 1935 in Pittsburgh, Penn. to Albert and Catherine Rahuba. Mr. Rahuba graduated from St. Canice High School in Pittsburgh. He honorably served in the U.S. Army in the Security Agency. He married his loving wife, Judy Reed, on Nov. 26, 1964 in Irving. He worked for Peoples Telephone as a switching supervisor and retired after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Masons, Scottish Rite, Shriners and Hella Temple. He enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and spending time with his beloved dog, Zipp.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and four sisters.

He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Rahuba; daughter, Lynda Ugalde and husband Eliseo “Cheo” and daughter, Lori Jaykus; grandson, Robert Jaykus Jr.; brother, Al Rahuba and wife Christie; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Graveside service was held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 13, 2021 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
