Gordon E. Stone

QUITMAN – A funeral service for Gordon E. Stone, 92 of Dallas was held October 28 at First United Methodist Church in Quitman with Rev. Keefe Copper officiating.

Mr. Stone was buried in Quitman City Cemetery.

Mr. Stone died October 20, 2017. He was born in Braham, Minnesota on March 12, 1925, to Christine and John Stone. His military service was as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne during the occupation of Japan. He worked at 3M Company in Dallas and Semi-Tech, Inc.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother and sister.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Alice Stone; step-sisters, Marilyn From and Lois Woodward; two sons, Gregory and Todd Stone; a daughter, Karen Sampson; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives.

Donations may be made in his name to First United Methodist Church in Quitman; JDRF of Dallas or Visiting Nurses Association.
