Holland seeks third term as justice of peace

Janae Holland has announced she is seeking reelection to her third term as Wood County Prec. 2 justice of the peace in the March Republican primary.

She previously worked in the Wood County Sheriff’s Dept. for 20 years in dispatch, records and sex offenders registration.

Since her election she has held Saturday court so working families don’t have to miss work, opened the office at 7:30 a.m. and performed early-morning jail bond duties. She also established a food box program at the office.

A single mother, she said she has faced challenges, like many parents, but those experiences remind her daily of the importance of fairness, compassion, and accountability – the values she brings to the office.

She said she stands for fairness in every decision, compassion for the people she serves and dedication to this community with integrity.

“I fulfill responsibilities that directly impact people’s lives,” she said. “Among the many duties I perform are presiding over Class C misdemeanor cases, resolving small claims and landlord disputes, conducting inquests and carrying out magistrate responsibilities such as arraignments and setting bonds.”
