Iron Horse Rhythm Run draws more than 150 runners

More than 150 runners participated in the 14th annual Iron Horse Rhythm Run Sept. 19, sponsored by Dance Dimensions.
The event included a 5K and kids races, drawing participants ranging from preschoolers to runners in their 80s.
Lu’Kidrian Williams was the first male finisher in the 5K with a time of 22 minutes, 25 seconds. Julie Steck was the top female finisher, completing the course in 27 minutes.
Williams also placed first in the men’s 13-34 division, followed by Billy Cotten in second and Connor Mechling in third. Keilee Riley won the women’s 13-34 division, with Kapri Riley second and Emma Bosworth third.
Steck took first in the women’s 35-54 division, followed by Jamie Webster and Sara Godwin. Jacob Pruitt won the men’s 35-54 division, with George Fabian second and Robert Ortega third.
Dina Dean won the women’s 55-and-older division, while Randy Bland took first in the men’s 55-and-older division.
Several younger runners also competed in the 5K. Haddie Webster won the girls 12-and-under division, followed by Veronica Tarone. Densley Hamlin and Georgia Weissert tied for third.
Eli Morrow took first in the boys 12-and-under division, followed by Matson Miller in second and Noah Carrington in third.
The younger competitors took to the course for separate kids races.
In the half-kilometer race for ages 5-7, Samantha Tarone finished first, Ivy Stallings placed second, and Raelee Elliott and Piper Patchke tied for third.
Veronica Tarone won the girls 8-10 1K race, followed by Sadie Conrad and Lola Rutledge. Jeremiah Dupont took first in the boys 8-10 race, with Tyler Herring second and Wyatt Welborn third.
The youngest participant in the kids race was 4-year-old Brooklyn Patchke. At the other end of the field, 89-year-old Maria Johnston was the oldest participant. The event also drew at least one runner from Dallas.
