James “Jim” Martin Tyson, 1964-2021

Graveside services for James “Jim” Martin Tyson, 56, of Alba are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, March 19, 2021 at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, with Bro. Don Masters officiating.

Mr. Tyson passed away March 11, 2021 at his residence in Alba. He was born June 20, 1964 in Dallas to James and Betty Tyson. Jim was a member of the United States Army and was a military police officer, serving in South Korea and Germany. He married Margaret Marie Powell Oct. 9, 1993 in Alba. He had lived the last 27 years in Alba and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Mineola.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Margaret Tyson of Alba; parents, James and Betty Tyson of Canton; two stepsons, Dennis Hurst and wife Janet of Mineola and Bryan Hurst and wife Mcxie of Mineola; stepdaughter, Kimberly Watson of Alba; sister, Shirel Tyson and husband Jeff Kyser of Wills Point; five step-grandchildren; one step great-granddaughter; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert
