Jerry Douglas “Butch” Richards 1944-2024

Jerry Douglas “Butch” Richards of Quitman passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at age 80. He was born on May 7, 1944 in Winnsboro. He worked in real estate for several years.

Richards was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry “J.K.” and Polly Baber Richards, and sister, Patsy “Pat” Richards Cameron.

He is survived by his sisters, Kathy Cain (Cliff), Keller; LaNelle Cates (Steve), Quitman; Nancy Kennedy (Royce), Winnsboro; Janey Hayes (Tony), Quitman; and Suzy Wright (Todd), Quitman; brother-in-law, Joe Dan Cameron, Quitman; and numerous other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Forest Hill Baptist Church, Quitman, with Bro. Fred Morrow officiating. Visitation will be after the service.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert
