Quitman Lady Bulldogs edged Mineola for the girls District 13-3A across country championship Saturday morning in Quitman.
Braleigh Wood led Quitman with a first-place finish in 12:27.4.

Lady Bulldogs district XC champions
Quitman Lady Bulldogs edged Mineola for the girls District 13-3A across country championship Saturday morning in Quitman.
Braleigh Wood led Quitman with a first-place finish in 12:27.4. Teammate Katie DeGorostiza was third in 12:53.8 on the 3,200-meter course and McKenna Wood was fifth in 13:13.7.
Olivia Hughes had the top Mineola finish in 4th at 13:08.7.
Rouding out the top 10 places for Mineola were Raylie Peebles in 6th at 13:18.8, Caroline Castleberry in 7th at 13:25.2 and Brianna Palacios in 8th at 13:36.7.
In the boys division, Quitman was edged by Winnsboro by a single point, 45-46.
Winona had the top two finishers but placed 4th as a team.
Christian Plata placed 4th for the Bulldogs in 16:27.8 followed by teammate Dakota Jimenez in 5th at 17:12.4 over the 5,000 meters.
Others running for Quitman were Enrique Olvera in 10th at 17:47.1, Saul Flores in 12th at 17:55.5, Noah Reid in 15th at 18:23.2, Jairo Salinas in 18th at 18:42.3 and Juan Ramirez in 19th at 18:52.3.
For the Quitman girls, Cooper Marcee overtook two runners down the stretch to place 12th in 14:22.2, Chloe Jones placed 15th in 14:50, Carley Plata 17th in 14:54.2, and Amanita Bautista 20th in 15:38.3.
Also placing for Mineola girls were Yareli Hernandez in 14th at 14:27.1, Emily Vega in 18th at 14:54.6 and Destiny Gandy in 22nd at 16:25.5.
Sebastian Klodnicki had the best finish for the Mineola boys at 19:37.3 in 25th. Grayson Potts placed 28th in 19:47.5, Caleb Silverio 33rd in 21:10.1 and Javier Sanchez 35th in 21:59.3.
Top three teams and top 10 individuals not otherwise qualified advance to the regional meet Oct. 24 at Lynn Creek Park in Grand Prairie.
