The Quitman Lady Bulldogs showcased their offensive firepower in a dominant district victory on Tuesday, harnessing an offensive explosion in the bottom of the third inning to secure a 19-3 win.

After a back-and-forth start, the Lady Bulldogs settled in and took control early. Quitman answered Winona’s first inning run with two runs of its own, using timely hitting to grab the lead. Although the game briefly tightened in the second inning, with Winona scoring twice in the top of the second, the Lady Bulldogs quickly responded with five runs of their own to lead the game 7-3.

The game turned decisively in the third inning, when Quitman erupted for 12 runs. Abby Johnson led the charge with a standout performance, delivering a base-clearing hit and later blasting a home run in the same inning to cap the rally. Contributions came from throughout the lineup, as Quitman consistently found ways to bring runners home and extend innings.

In total, the Lady Bulldogs collected 11 hits while also showing patience at the plate with nine walks. Multiple players recorded multi-hit games, and the team’s aggressive approach on the base paths paid off with 10 stolen bases. That combination of power, discipline, and speed proved too much to overcome.

In the circle, Quitman delivered a solid performance, limiting damage early before settling in and allowing the offense to take over. The defense backed up the effort, helping maintain control as the lead continued to grow.

Later in the week, the Lady Bulldogs faced a tough outing on the road, falling behind early and unable to recover despite continued effort at the plate and on the bases. Quitman did manage to produce runs and show aggressiveness, including multiple stolen bases, but could not overcome the early deficit, and lost to the Edgewood Bulldogs 17-2.
