The Mineola Lady Jackets swept Grand Saline and Malakoff last week to end the first half of district volleyball play unbeaten and atop the standings at 6-0.

The second half got underway Tuesday with Mineola hosting Quitman.

The Lady Jackets will be at Edgewood on Friday, then have a bye next Tuesday.

Mineola dispatched the third-place Lady Indians at home last Tuesday, 25-15, 25-17, 26-24.

Friday the Lady Jackets traveled to Malakoff and also swept the match in three games.

Eustace is in second place in the district at 5-1 and Grand Saline third at 4-2.

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
