Lady Jackets unbeaten atop district
The Mineola Lady Jackets improved to 5-0 in district volleyball last week with wins over Winona on Tuesday and Eustace on Friday.
Mineola swept both matches, stopping Winona at home last Tuesday 25-12, 25-9, 25-7.
Mahayla McMahon had 10 kills, 4 aces and 9 digs; Olivia Hughes 8 kills, 4 aces, 4 digs and 17 assists; and Trinadee Jackson 12 assists.
The junior varsity also won its match two games to none.
On Friday Mineola traveled to Eustace, one of the new district foes, and took a three-set win 27-25, 25-16, 25-17.
It was the first district loss for 4-1 Eustace.
Mineola hosted Grand Saline Tuesday and wraps up the first half of district play Friday at Malakoff.
The second half gets underway Tuesday, Oct. 8 when Mineola hosts Quitman.
