Lady Panthers start season with victory
Alba-Golden Lady Panthers varsity had to go to overtime to get the win in their basketball season opener last Tuesday at Eustace.
The Lady Panthers opened with an 8-5 lead in the first quarter which was trimmed to 17-16 at halftime.
The hosts edged ahead after three periods 29-26 but Alba-Golden came back to tie it at 37 after regulation.
Alba-Golden prevailed 5-4 in the extra period for the 42-41 win.
The Lady Panthers hosted Quitman Tuesday and will be in the Union Grove tournament this weekend.
