Legion plans semiannual event

Carl E. Azebell American Legion Post 340 will present its Spring Gun Show the weekend of April 29-30th at the Winnsboro City Civic Center at the City Park, 915 Wheeler Dr. Doors open at 9 a.m. both days with closing time at 5 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for veterans with ID and children 12 and under accompanied by an adult are free.

Vendors will sell guns, ammo, knives, powder, reloading supplies and much more. There will be ample on site parking and concessions run by the American Legion Auxiliary.

The post produces spring and fall gun shows. Proceeds support community organizations, local veterans in need, scholarships and tuition for attendees to the American Legion Boys’ State program.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Come on over to Mineola’s beautiful Historic Select Theater and hear the Lake Country Symphonic Band’s Christmasy “Everything Christmas” concert.

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
