Lifevac kits donated to sheriff’s office
American Legion Post 340 in Winnsboro will distribute Lifevac kits, a choking rescue device, to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday, April 29 at 10 a.m. at the Wood County Justice Center.
All vehicles will be equipped with a kit for emergency use.
Post Commander John Whitsell said, “This is our largest contribution to the community yet and was only made possible through the hours of volunteer efforts of our members. We are engaged in this kind of activity because we are able to. Many of our comrades gave all and so we do this to honor them.”
The principal fund raising activity is through two gun shows each year, in the spring and fall.
