Lois English 1932-2024

Services for Lois English, 92, of Alba were held at 2 p.m, Monday, Sept. 16, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Alba, with Algia Allen officiating.

Burial was in Salem Cemetery.

Mrs. English passed away Sept. 13, 2024 at her home in Alba. She was born April 6, 1932 in Cloudy, Okla. to Claude and Clara Harper Goheen. Lois was a member of Alba Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, J.D. English; daughter, Lana English-McAree; brothers, Bud Goheen, and Louis Goheen; and sisters, Faye Thurman, Mildred Goheen, Dora Self and Lucille Butler.

Survivors include her son, Jay Haggerty of Alba; four granddaughters; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, 2024 at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.

Special Olympics returns in style

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
