Marshall Thomas Burton 1957-2024

Services for Marshall Thomas Burton, 67, of Alba were scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024 at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba, with Chaplain Robert Stovall officiating.

Interment will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Alba.

Mr. Burton passed away Feb. 24, 2024 in Tyler. He was born Feb. 15, 1957 in Dallas to Grady Eldred and Elsie Evans Burton. He married Linda Terry in Edgewood May 31, 1980. They moved from Saginaw to the Alba area in 2002. Marshall was a member of First Baptist Church of Alba and “Anchors of Hope Ministries.” He was a truck driver for 33 years. He drove for Walmart the last 10 years of his trucking career. Marshall was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Shirley Whitley; and niece, Chelsea Moore.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Linda Burton of Alba; three daughters, Dotty Thornton and husband Bill of Alba, Ellie Burton of Chatsworth, Ga. and Jessica Myers and husband Charles of Alba; brother, Glenn Burton and wife Thressa of Dallas; sister, Jody Short of Corinth; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Memorials can be made to the Alba Food Pantry, c/o First Baptist Church of Alba, 219 Holley St., #200, Alba, Texas 75410.

The family received friends from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Symphonic band presents Christmas concert

Concerts are Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. and Tuesday evening, Dec. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Mike Holbrook is back in the director’s seat, so it’s sure to be a fun-filled couple of hours.
